Lovefly® Blog - How Covid Ready are the Airlines?

A lot of questions we are receiving right now center around... 'How Covid-ready are airlines that we intend to fly with?'

We want to reassure you that ALL airlines are following laid down measures to keep us all safe.  Go to any airline website that you intent to travel with, you will see what they are doing.

This is a snippet from a British Airways website video on one of their pages.  The link to the page is here.

"There are a few things you can do before you arrive at the airport to help keep you and others as safe as possible.  To minimise contact at the airport check in online and download the BA app where you can save your boarding pass.  And please keep your details up to date on Manage My Booking in case we need to contact you.

Keep hand luggage to a minimum, so pack light if you can (we know it’s not easy!) and try to limit your time at the airport to a maximum of 3 hours for long haul and 2 hours for short haul flights.

We require all customers to wear a face mask at all times, in the airport and on board. As a guide, a face mask could last up to 4 hours, so please remember to bring enough masks with you for the duration of your trip.

Finally, please do not travel if you’ve experienced symptoms of Covid-19 within the last 7 days and still have a high temperature. It will keep you safe as well as other passengers and our wonderful British Airways colleagues."

This is just one airline picked at random as we are independent in our comments. One thing, we know for sure, is that airlines are brilliant at risk management.  It is part of what makes commercial aviation so safe nowadays.  Something happens, we learn from it and put new measures in place to manage or squash the risk.

Take care,
